Finále Festival will open with the world premiere of Year of the Widow

The Festival will kick off with the feature debut by director Veronika Lišková, Year of the Widow, with Pavla Beretová in the lead role. It is loosely based on Zuzana Pokorná's diaries, which were published as a series with great readers’ response in the Respekt weekly magazine.

Some scenes of the film, telling a story of courage, hope and strength to start over after the death of a life partner, were filmed at the Regional Court in Pilsen. CinemArt will release the film in cinemas on 10 October 2024.
