Women in the Audio-visual Industry: Feature Film

As part of this year’s industry program, film professionals are invited to attend a special presentation of the research study Women in the Audio-visual Industry: Feature Film on Sunday, 22 September at 10:30 a.m. The research team explored the representation of women in key film industry roles over the past 30 years, while also conducting a series of fascinating in-depth interviews with female filmmakers from various professions and generations. The findings will be presented by Tereza Czesany Dvořáková and Karel Větrovský.

Following the presentation, at 12:00 p.m., there will be a live podcast discussion focused on reflecting the study's key insights and connecting them with the goals and activities of the "Women and Film" section. Moderated by Juliána Silvie Kamas, the discussion will feature prominent guests from various sectors of Czech cinema: Julie Žáčková, Dagmar Sedláčková, Diana Cam Van Nguyen, Klára Belicová, Pavla Kubečková, and Alžběta Malá. Together, they will discuss the current position of women in the Czech film industry, share their experiences, and explore potential steps for increasing women’s representation at all stages of filmmaking.
